The prototype of all future Mishnayos with nekudos!
Two-volume set of Shisha Sidrei Mishnah with nekudos (vocalization) added to every word in order to “understand it on its truest level”. The volumes feature separate title pages.
The monumental project of adding nekudos to the Mishnah was commenced by the illustrious Jewish scholar, statesman and author Rabbi Menashe ben Israel. After he completed several masechtos, his work was continued by Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda Leon Timpelo.
This was the very first time that Mishnayos were printed with this version of nekudos, and it ultimately evolved into the prototype of all future sets of Mishnayos with nekudos. A previous version of Mishnayos with nekudos was printed a short while beforehand, in Constantinople between the years of 1644-1645, but the vocalization in that text was different and did not become the established text.
The sefer opens with the prefaces of Rabbi Menashe ben Israel and Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda Leon Timpelo who both address the vital significance of adding nekudos to Mishnayos.
The actual text of the Mishnah was painstakingly edited based on the texts belonging to the Tosfos Yom Tov and Rabbi Shlomo Adani.
