108 principles encompassing sheilos and teshuvos by Rabbeinu Asher ben Yechiel, the Rosh, who was one of the leaders of the Ashkenazic Jewish world.
This edition of Sheilos U’Tshuvos HaRosh includes many new additions and supplements that illuminate the Rosh’s teachings.
The title page reads: “It is wondrous in our eyes how they ruled any halachah from the old editions of the Shu"t.” Indeed, all later editions of Shu”t HaRosh included the extra text and paragraphs originally printed in the present edition.
Rabbeinu Asher ben Yechiel, the Rosh (circa 1245-1321) was one of the eminent early Rishonim and acclaimed as one of the “three pillars of hora’ah” along with the Rif and Rambam whose writings strongly influenced Rabbi Yosef Karo in his Shulchan Aruch.

A list of owners’ signatures appear in the flyleafs, attributing the sefer to several illustrious rabbis such as Rabbi Yaakov Schweich, Av Beis Din of Endigen and Langview, of the French-Swiss sages; Rabbi Wolf Levi, Av Beis Din of Galinen; Rabbi Shlomo Levi, Av Beis Din of Galinen. (Signed by his son Daniel and dated 1795).
The sefer features a number of handwritten marginalia from various periods.
