Sefer Yesod of Kabbalah: Sha’arei Tzedek.
First Edition.
Riva Di Trento, 1561
Introduction to the wisdom of kabbalah, primarily concerning the “Ten Sefiros” by the early kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla.
This sefer is a foundational kabbalistic work studied by those who desire to enter the gates of kabbalah.
Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla was one of the great Rishonim and kabbalists in 13th century Spain. His sefarim, Shaarei Tzedek, Shaarei Orah and Ginas Egoz are all fundamental works of kabbalah and were among the first sefarim authored after the discovery of the Zohar.
The Shelah HaKadosh extols the author in his haskamah to Ginas Egoz (Hanau, 1615) as “A holy man of G-d, Rabbi Yosef Gikatilla z”l, of previous generation…his name is great in Torah, chassidus and supreme holiness…”
