Letter Full of Warm Blessings from the Rebbe Rayatz of Chabad
Riga, 1929
A special letter containing warm and heartfelt blessings from the depths of the tzaddik’s heart, the Rebbe Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn of Lubavitch. Only blessings are contained in the letter.
The Rebbe’s blessing:
"In response to his letter announcing his son’s wedding…
I hereby bless him with the blessing of Mazel Tov,
May Hashem grant that their match should be successful in gashmiyus and ruchniyus,
And he should see great nachas and abundant pleasure from his other sons and daughters, may they live,
May they all conduct themselves with good and upright behavior,
In the ways of Torah, mitzvos and chassidus,
And engage in matters of Torah,
And may Hashem help them in gashmiyus and ruchniyus."
At the end of the letter the Rebbe added blessing in his holy handwriting and signature: "His friend who seeks his welfare and blesses him, Yosef Yitzchak".
The Rebbe Rayatz, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn (1880-1950) was the sixth Rebbe in the Chabad dynasty, which he led from 1920. He was arrested and sentenced to death but was finally released. In 1940 he immigrated to the United States and continued building there the great Chabad Chassidus.
His son-in-law and successor is the Rebbe Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn, the seventh Rebbe in the Lubavitch dynasty.
