Sifra Toras Kohanim Filled with Handwritten Glosses by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Wolk, Av Beis Din of Pinsk

Sifra, which is Toras Kohanim, one of the most important foundational texts, "the source of all Mishnayos and Beraisos" (in the words of the Chofetz Chaim), with the commentary of Rabbeinu Shimshon of Shantz in a first edition.

The pages of the entire sefer are filled with over 150 important and substantive glosses, some of which are extremely lengthy, in the handwriting of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Wolk, Av Beis Din of Pinsk.

All the glosses are completely legible and intact. Due to their extensive length, one can say they amount to a complete Torah composition on the Sifra!

The glosses were printed from this very copy in the Sifrah edition published by Machon Ofek (1998).

Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Wolk, Av Beis Din of Pinsk, author of ‘Keser Kehuna’ (1856-1907), was a foremost disciple of the Beis HaLevi. He received semicha from the author of ‘Rosh L’Reuveni’ and was the son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Gimpel Yaffa, who succeeded the gaon Rabbi Elazar Moshe Horowitz as the rabbi of Pinsk.

Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch is especially renowned for his work ‘Keser Kehuna’ on the Sifri, and the present sefer is a complete work from him on the Sifra!
