Imrei Shefer contains sermons for the weekly Parasha, holidays, hespedim, and various occasions, written by the pious Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Halevi of Safed.
The book includes eulogies for the passing of the Chachamim Rabbi Eleazar Azkari, author of the book
Haredim, Rabbi Ya’akov Beirav (the second), and Rabbi Ya’akov Abulefia.
The author, Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Halevi, was one of the scholars of the Land of Israel in the era of the giants of Torah and Kabbalah – the Beit Yosef, the Arizal and others. In his later years, he traveled to Venice and passed away there in 1602, eulogized with great honor by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Modena (
Midbar Yehuda, pp. 78-80).

Copy from Rabbi Nachum Dov Friedman of Sadigura,
grandson of the King of Israel of Ruzhin. On the flyleaf appears his handwritten signature, and on the title page are two of his stamps: "Nachum Dov Friedman" with a lion illustration – the symbol of the Beit David Hamelach , and "Owned with my money." A red label is affixed to the binding, printed with: "The book collection of our master Nachum Dov Friedman of Sadigura."
