Techinos and Segulos
Sefer Techinos U’Segulos V’Derech Eretz. Bombay, 1863.
Lithograph
Anthology of prayers, segulos and amulets collected from a range of sefarim. This sefer was printed using the lithograph technique, based on a manuscript handwritten in Iraqi cursive.
This technique, innovated in China, was prevalent in India during that era, although it is no longer in use.
The sefer is divided into three units:
Shaar HaTechinos – Anthology of prayers for specific circumstances and events
Shaar HaSegulos – Collection of amulets and folk remedies
Shaar Derech Eretz – Proper conduct and habits
Among the segulos included in this sefer are segulos for pregnancy, easy birth, abundant mother’s milk, finding favor, and segulos to protect from miscarriage, childhood maladies, plague, fires, ayin hara, and more.
