The Passover Haggadah with the Peirush of Don Isaac Abarbanel – Cremona 1557
Haggadah
Zevach Pesach – The Passover Haggadah with the renowned
commentary of Don Isaac Abarbanel, including the laws of the Passover Seder according to the customs of the Sephardic Jews before the expulsion.
This ancient Haggadah has lasted through 467 Passover Seders!
The Abarbanel’s commentary is among the most fundamental on the Passover Haggadah, and both it and its abridgments have been printed in hundreds of editions (!) – and since its publication, it is rare to find a commentary on the Haggadah that does not reference the Abarbanel! This commentary is considered the first in the world to be printed together with the Haggadah.
The book features over ten handwritten notations in Italian script from the 16th century by an unidentified respected scholar, signed: "IK”Z" (see below).
