Rare: Sefer Tehillim, Wittenberg, 1566
Sefer Tehillim with accurate text and trop, an attractive copy. Original parchment cover with many imprints, and figures of kings.
On the title page is a wood engraving of Shmuel Hanavi anointing King David as king.
At the beginning of the Tehillim are five pages in Latin, including a dedication to the Duke of Saxony and a song venerating the recital of Tehillim. These are followed by the prayer of Chavakuk (Chavakuk chapter 3) in Hebrew.
Wittenberg (Witebergae), 1566. Pages: [160]. Size: 15 cm. Condition: on the cover of the book, some paper completions. In the first quarter of the book are handwritten notes in Latin.
