The Imrei Yosef of Spinka’s Personal Copy of Bnei Yissachar, with His Signature

Essays based on kabbalistic and Chassidic teachings, on Shabbos and Rosh Chodesh, by Rav Zvi Elimelech of Dinov, one of the fundamental Sifrei Chassidus.

This volume was the personal copy of the Spinka Rebbe, Rav Yosef Meir Weiss, author of Imrei Yosef.

The title pages of both sections feature his signature:
“The katan Yosef Meir son of my father and master Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi, here in Munkacs.”

The title pages are also signed by the Imrei Yosef’s
uncle Rabbi Mordechai Weiss of Munkacs, Rav of the Chassidich community in Tiberias, and his son Rabbi Avraham Chaim Weiss.

Rav Yosef Meir of Spinka (1838 – 1929), author of Imrei Yosef, was a leading Chassidic Rebbe and a leading disciple of Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Ziditchov who ordained him as Admor, and after his passing, appeared recurrently to him in dreams. His impassioned prayers and breadth of knowledge in kabbalah were legendary, and Rabbi Chaim of Sanz often asked him his questions in kabbalah.
