Melitz Yosher, Explanations on the Sedrahs for Women,   Amsterdam  [1688] – a Magnificent Title Page

This rare sefer is in fact the well-known Tzeina Ur’ena, which includes commentaries on the Chumash from the leading commentators, translated into Yiddish by Rav Yaakov ben Yitzchak of Yanov.

In this edition, new commentaries have been added from the sefarim Sifsei Kohen and Maasei Hashem, edited by Rav Elyakim Shatz of Komarna.

One of the approbations is from Rav Yitzchak Abuhav de Fonseca, who is considered the first rabbi to serve in America.

Since Tzeina Ur’ena sefarim were well-read in past generations, most of them became worn out and placed in genizah.
On the title page are nine miniature drawings illustrating the Torah’s stories of the Torah, mainly those concerning women, such as Miriam with Moshe Rabeinu in the river, Zipporah and the bris milah, and more.
