Sefer Yesod:

Noda BiYehuda Tinyana. First Edition. Prague 1811

With Long Autographed Dedication by the Author’s Son, Rabbi Shmuel Segal Landau, Av Beis Din of Prague!

Noda BiYehuda Tinyana, in two volumes, contains hundreds of responses to halachic questions in all four sections of the Shulchan Aruch, by Rabbeinu Yechezkel Segal Landau, Av Beis Din of Prague.

The title page of Part 1 features a royal dedication signed and written entirely by the publisher of the sefer, the author’s son and successor, Rabbeinu Shmuel Segal Landau!

An important foundational sefer, in its first edition, whose words are still discussed today in all Batei Midrash.

This is an item of great distinction and extremely valuable!

The ‘Noda BiYehuda Tinyana’ contains new teshuvos written by the Noda BiYehuda after the printing of the first edition (Prague 1776), and it also includes teshuvos from the publisher himself, Rabbi Shmuel.

Rabbi Shmuel Segal Landau,
Av Beis Din of Prague (1750-1835), was the son and successor of the Gadol Hador Rabbi Yechezkel Segal Landau, and publisher of his sefer ‘Noda BiYehuda Tinyana’. For decades he served as dayan and later as Av Beis Din in the Prague community, where there was an especially large concentration of Talmidei Chachamim and Geonim.

The Chasam Sofer greatly respected him, and wrote about himself that in forty years of ruling (!), he only retracted two rulings: One where he conceded to the words of Rabbi Shmuel Segal Landau and another where he conceded to the words of Rabbi Efraim Zalman Margolios (Shu"t Chasam Sofer Vol. 8 No. 65).

Prague, 1811. First edition in two volumes.

The beautiful words of Rabbeinu in his dedication:
"At the time of Mincha, may blessing, joy and happiness come to the home, to a man whom both the Lord and people are pleased with, the famous wealthy leader R’ Meir Kvila, may his light shine. From the soul of his beloved friend, the Katan Shmuel Segal Landau, son of the Gaon the author of blessed memory."
