Yesha Elokim, Hoshanos for Succos and Piyutim for

Simchas Torah. Saloniki, 1569.

With Hilchos Lulav by the Beis Yosef!

Yesha Elokim includes Hoshanos for Succos, with a commentary by Rabbi Moshe Pizanti, and liturgies for Simchas Torah.

A very rare sefer!

The author wandered from city to town with his sefarim, but tragically, sometime around 1573, he was kidnapped by bandits who murdered him and he died Al Kiddush Hashem. They furthermore threw all the sefarim he had carried with him into the ocean (Shu”t Mishpitei Shmuel L’Rav S. Kalai. Venice, 1559 Ch. 27).

The very first edition of Hoshanos with commentary was printed in Constantinople (c. 1567). Important additions and supplements were added to the present second edition, including Tikunim for Shemini Atzeres and Simchas Torah, along with their commentaries. The present commentary on Hoshanos also features slight additions and changes.

Another addition to this sefer is four full sides relaying the laws of lulav and aravah as stated in the Shulchan Aruch by Rabbi Yosef Karo who was still alive at the time!

Saloniki, 1569.

The author was a great genius. At the time when the present sefer was written, he was only 28 years old! He wandered from country to country throughout the Middle East until his murder in 1573. He authored numerous sefarim, among them Ner Mitzvah (Constantinople, 1567); Chukas Hapesach (Saloniki, 1569) and other sefarim, some of which were never printed, including a commentary on Talmud Yerushalmi Seder Zera’im.
