Sefer Segula – Important Chassidic Sefer: Shearis Israel by the Miracle Worker, the Maggid of Vilednik. First Edition
Lemberg, 1864
The sefer was written by the holy tzaddik and miracle worker, one of the greatest and holiest of men, Rabbeinu Yisrael Dov of Vilednik, the leading disciple of the holy Maggid Rabbi Mordechai of Chernobyl.
"A collection of pure sayings, spoken from a holy mouth". Contains: Pathways of connecting to tzaddikim; teachings for the Chagim; and teachings for the Days of Shovavim.
This sefer is a remnant of the teachings of the holy author, who died without children, and it has become known as a sefer of segulos.
In his lifetime, the author was known as a great miracle worker, and people would travel to him from all over the world to be blessed and to receive advice and healing. His holy kever in Vilednik serves to this day as a magnet for those seeking salvation and comfort, and many merit salvation after visiting his kever.
The Rebbe Rabbi Aharon of Chernobyl commented on the author’s holy writings and told the publisher: "Such holy words are worthy, and they are worthy of dissemination in Am Yisrael, …" (See introduction).
