Important and Impressive Bible – Amsterdam 1732.

Chamisha Chumshei Torah, Nevi’im, and Ketuvim, with Masora notes, and table of Haftarot.

Complete elegant Bible, containing 625 pages (!), in one large volume bound in antique leather binding, with gold embossing and decorations.

Four title pages, the first made with special copper engravings, including an interesting illustration of the scene of receiving the Torah – one can notice that the artist was well-versed in the details of tradition, depicting the tablets in a rectangular shape, not rounded at the top as often mistakenly drawn by Christian artists

The Bible is printed on high-quality paper with beautiful typeface and  considered one of the most accurate and beautiful Bibles printed in Amsterdam in the 18th century.

Amsterdam 5492 [1732]. Page count: [1], 184; 284; 150; [6] pages. Size: 21 cm.

Good condition, signs of use and light stains on some pages. Wear on the binding, the spine artistically reinforced.
