Sefer Yesod: The Traditional Aramaic language and Translation

Sefer Meturgeman , Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur
, First Edition – Isny 1540
 Wide Margins.

Sefer Meturgeman, an Aramaic-Hebrew dictionary with vowel points, arranged alphabetically, by the renowned Melumad Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur.

This book is the first fundamental work entirely dedicated to understanding the Aramaic language, in which several sacred books, the Targum Onkelos, and others were written. About this language, it is written in Bereishit Rabbah,
"Do not consider the Aramaic language lightly, for we find in the Bible that the KB"H, honors it."

Even the Rema cites the words of
"the great grammarian R. Eliyahu, at the beginning of his book Meturgeman" (Responsa of the Rema, 130).

It is known that the Vilna Gaon
" followed Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur in matters of grammar" (Tosefet Ma’aseh Rabbi 14b), and the ‘Baal Shem’ of Michelstadt recommended studying the Sefer Meturgeman to understand learning methods (Baal Shem of Michelstadt, Jerusalem 2006, p. 36).
