Venice 1740
Chamisha Chumshei Torah with the Five Megilot and Haftarot according to the customs of all communities, with tables and names of the cantillation marks.
The first title page is illustrated.
Most of the text on the second title page and the Haftarot title page are
printed in red ink, usually intended for wealthy patrons and nobles! (in other copies, all the title page text is printed in black ink)
The Haftarot title page is rare in itself and is not recorded in the Hebrew Bibliography and the National Library.
An elegant copy – high-quality white paper, with nice margins.
Venice 1740. Page count: [2], 240; [1], 82 pages. Size: 19.4 cm. Good condition. A few tiny holes and tears. (Several pages bound out of order). Original leather binding with remnants of gilded decorations.
Unique copy: Many pages in this copy are different from the Valmadonna copy scanned in the National Library – these variances are not mentioned in the Hebrew Bibliography and the National Library.
