"Regarding the Wars That Have Increased in These Days Between Israel and the Arabs". Letter from Rabbi Shalom Abuhatzeira Marseille [1968]

Rabbi Shalom writes that he and the members of his community abroad
"are very distressed and sigh and groan in prayers and supplications for your sake, regarding the wars that have increased between Israel and the Arabs, there is no day or night without war…

KB”H say enough to the troubles, and bring our Messiah soon. These are the words of the humble one, Shalom Abuhatzeira."

The Gaon Rabbi Shalom of blessed memory, a tremendous diligent scholar and Yere Shamaim, his Torah was his profession, and his mouth did not cease from study day and night literally, his humility knew no bounds, and his fear of Heaven preceded his wisdom.

His relative, the Baba Sali, describes him in one of his Torah letters to him: ‘Or Hamenorah, it was light for the Jews, a majestic stature, Ari Shebachavura…… the esteemed Admor Rabbi Shalem Abuhatzeira, may his light shine, he is complete, and his teaching is complete’. (See Geonei Mishpachat Abuhatzeira Part 2, p. 197, and there his biography in detail).

In 1960, he immigrated to France and served as the rabbi of Marseille until his passing in 1974.
