Sefer Yesod: Chidushei Ramban – Seder Moed, First Edition – Salonika 1791
Distinguished Provenance.
A book of the Ramban’s (Rabbi Moses ben Nachman) collected Chidushim, featuring his renowned commentaries on ten tractates from Seder Moed of Talmud Bavli.
This commentary is considered "the primary source for the interpretation of the Talmudic Sugiot" ( Rabbi Issar Zalman Meltzer), it is extensively studied in yeshivas, and has been meticulously examined by the great scholars of all generations.
The Ramban’s Chidushim on the following Masechtot are included: Berachot, Ta’anit, Megillah, Chagigah, Pesachim, Rosh Hashanah, Yoma, Sukkah, Moed Katan, and Eruvin.
The title page features this list in the handwriting of Rabbi Chaim Berlin.
The book was printed from an ancient manuscript from the archives of Rabbi Chaim Modai, Chief Rabbi of Izmir, with additional annotations from him.
This sefer was printed together with: Teshuvot of Rabbi Yosef ibn Migash by Rabbi Yosef ben Migash, one of the early Rishonim, Talmid of the Rif, and the Teacher and Rabbi of the Rambam, who commented on him: "…I have gathered everything that came to my hands from the commentaries of my esteemed father and others up to Rabbeinu Yosef the Levite, for the heart of that man in the Talmud is awe-inspiring to those who delve into his words and the depth of his understanding, so much so that it could almost be said that there was no one like him before him."
