A rare Shana Tova letter, with signatures of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rebbetzin Nechama Dina Schneersohn (wife of the Rayatz), and Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary
An extremely valuable Chabad letter of blessings, signed by all the leaders of the illustrious family of the Rebbe Rayatz, led by his son-in-law the Lubavitcher Rebbe, just months before he accepted the mantle of leadership.
“As the new year approaches…. we hereby extend our blessings to you and to all your family, may they live, with the blessing of Kesivah VeChasimah Tovah, for a good and sweet year, both materially and spiritually.”
The letter is signed by:
- The Lubavitcher Rebbe – Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, son-in-law of the Rayatz, who several months later accepted the leadership of Chabad Chassidus, with the famous "Basi Legani" discourse (the night following 10th of Shevat 1951).
- The righteous Rebbetzin Nechama Dina Schneersohn, the wife of the Rebbe Rayatz (who passed away on 10th of Shevat 1950).
- The chassidic scholar Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary (the Rashag), son-in-law of the Rayatz.
Such letters were written only during the month of Elul 5710 [1950] and are of great significance!
