Special prayer service created in honor of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Empress Maria Louisa, daughter of Emperor Franz II of Austria, upon their historic visit to Amsterdam. During his royal tour of the city, Bonaparte and his entourage visited the Great Portuguese Synagogue in Amsterdam, and this prayer service was recited publicly on his behalf.
The order of prayer appears with the Hebrew text and French translation on facing sides.
